TICKETS GO ON SALE MONDAY, SEPT. 15 FOR THE INAUGURAL EMERALD COAST CLASSIC BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

NICEVILLE, FLA. — Tickets go on sale at 12 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Sept. 15 for the inaugural Emerald Coast Classic basketball tournament, which is headlined by top teams from across the country including Cincinnati, Creighton, Mississippi and Middle Tennessee State.

Fans can purchase tickets online by going to the official tournament site www.emeraldcoastclassic.com.

“The participating teams are really going to be surprised by the support from fans in the area,” said tournament director Maury Hanks, who is also the chief executive officer for Global Sports. “There is a lot of local enthusiasm, so we encourage fans from the competing schools to purchase their tickets in advance”

The championship game will tip off at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time at The Arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College and be televised live on CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports.

“Basketball fans in the Florida panhandle are really excited about this tournament,” said Northwest Florida State athletic director Ramsey Ross. “We have a great venue. There is a lot of local interest by fans in getting tickets.”

North Carolina Central, Eastern Illinois, Northern Arizona and Southern round out the eight-team field competing in the Emerald Coast Classic, presented by Global Sports.

Cincinnati and Creighton were ranked Nos. 15 and 16, respectively, in the final 2014-15 Associated Press poll.
